We are delighted to welcome the 5th consecutive group of Dutch volunteers who will arrive on Friday 30 March 2018 to work with the Andros Routes project on path maintenance for six days until they depart on Thursday 5 April 2018.

The 12-member Dutch team, traveling and staying at their own expense, will work across the whole island, moving in stages from the north to the south.

As well as working on the paths, the group will make visits to places of cultural interest, meet with local associations, and of course get to know the local cuisine and produce.

The volunteers will be transported by a bus a provided by the Municipality, however the driver’s fee will be paid by the volunteers.

These volunteer visits from the Netherlands are a result of several years of close co-operation between Andros Routes and the Dutch travel agency SNP and we have found them to be enriching and valuable in many ways:

– They give us extra help in path maintenance just at the right moment when the paths need most attention, at the start of the spring hiking season;

– They provide a worthwhile and rewarding cultural exchange between different people from the North and South of Europe;

– They make a positive contribution to the promotion of Andros in creative and socially beneficial ways.

If you are interested in getting to know our Dutch friends and/or offering help during their stay please contact info@androsroutes.gr or call 0030 6977 334334

Watch our video from the last group of volunteers and hear them describe their impressions of their experience and their appreciation of Andros and its people.
