Paths and rural heritage of Andros: New publication in the international press!

British print and online magazine Escapism published in July featured an article titled “Walking the restored ancient mules tracks on the Greek island of Andros”.

Last May, a British travel organization organized a trip to Andros for journalist Imogen Lepere and photographer Mark Rammers to explore routes included in a travel package offered by the organization for individual visitors.

Our organization supported the organization of the trip, encouraging the contact of journalists with local cultural associations and local producers who are in contact with the specific routes. The guests had the opportunity to see first-hand the important work of the Cultural Association of Menites, which has undertaken the maintenance of the hiking routes that pass through the area, as well as to take a guided tour at the Livada Farm, to taste cheeses, lemonade, honey, vegetables, sweets of the spoon.

Although we found an error in the text regarding the historical development of the shipping of Andros, this publication does not cease to be an important contribution to the promotion and preservation of the natural and cultural heritage of Andros and its operators.

Escapism travel magazine is English-language, published in Britain in electronic and print form quarterly. The e-magazine is read by an audience of 52,000 unique readers per month on average, while the print readership reaches 200,000.

We sincerely thank the organization Ramble Worldwide and the journalists and we remind the importance and the value of supporting the local producers of our island, a crucial pillar of sustainability together with the cultural associations.
