Route 2a is the definition of an “idyllic walk”, almost flat, with a few steps, a path of dirt, cement and flat stairs just fifteen minutes away from Apoikia and the famous spring of Sariza. A path that is walked by many people, hikers and non-hikers, of all ages who come to get to know Andros and appreciate the aesthetic value of the area’s landscape. The trees multiple as we approach the waterfalls of Pythara and when we reach the rocks, the waterfalls, the small ponds stage an incredibly zen scene. Can you imagine in this little paradise someone throwing his rubbish on one of the cliffs of the small ravine before Pythara? It seems unbelievable, but it is completely true! Yes, in this dream area, someone or someones threw garbage.
The problem came to us. What were we to do as the angels of the paths that we are? Should we collect the garbage or start correspondence with the authorities to see who will collect them, when… (tragic!) The solution was provided by a sponsor of the paths who paid workers to play jugglers and collect piece by piece… the rubble from the cliffs . We thank him very much.
But tell us, do you like this Andros? Is it possible that Pythara is a garbage dump? Huh? What do you think?
