17th of February, 4th maintenance hike for 2024, on the route Livadia-Vrachnou-Prophitis Daniel-Petrias-Fallika-Aladinou-Vakoni. The participation of the hikers was very positive:19 people from Fellos, Agios Petros, Gavrio, Korthi, Batsi, Mesaria, Chora, also from Athens, Holland and USA!
Finally it smelled like winter! The day was sweetly cloudy, with plenty of wind and the temperature around 12 degrees.

We all met up in Baconi and most of us were transferred by coach to Livadia, at the start of the route, where we joined the others. On the way up to Vrahnou, we admired the beautiful view of Chora and its surrounding villages. The cold of the day worked to our advantage.

After Vrahnou we came across the small church of Prophet Daniel and the ruined settlement of Petria. The view was panoramic, the mountain green and lively, the smells intoxicating! We arrived at Fallica, a neat and beautiful village at the foot of the Monastery of Panahrantos. From there, we descended towards Aladinou and made a stop at the lovely stone bridge of the village. There the group split up. Most of us continued on a branch of the trail to visit the Foros cave, which was opened especially for us. The rest continued to the end of the trail.

The trail, in general, was in good condition. It always needs a little retouching, which of course we did. Unfortunately we also picked up some considerable trash.
