With the help of ni e weather, on Sunday 22nd of October we realized our 9th maintenance hike for 2023. 49 hikers started from the lush village of Arni and hiked up to the highest peak of Andros, Kouvara. The ascend was challenging, but which peak can be easily conquered? However, our effort was rewarded. Up there, at the chapel of Profitis Ilias, after taking a few breaths, we admired the amazing view of the clear landscape, something quite rare as fog is a permanent resident in the area.

After resting, we then walked towards the mountainous village of Vourkoti. The hospitable Cultural Association of the village had organized the 1st “rakokazano” festival with plenty of wine and raki , local dishes, boiled goat meat, pasta with goat meat and much more; everything we wanted at the end of our nice hike!
